MATERIALS:
1 oz. Worsted weight cotton
Crochet hook size H/5.0 mm
SIZE:
8” square after blocking
ABBREVIATIONS:
Ch = chain
Sc = single crochet
Dc = double crochet
Lp = loop
Rep = repeat
RS = Right Side
St = stitch
Tch = Turning Chain
SPECIAL
STITCHES:
Dc5tog = Work 5
dc into designated st leaving the last lp of each st on hk, yo and pull through
all 6 lps.
COMMENCE
PATTERN:
Ch 27.
Row 1: (RS) Skip
3ch (count as dc), 1 dc into each ch to end, turn. (25 dc)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1
sc into each of first 2 sts, *work dc5tog into next st, 1 sc into each of next
3 sts, rep for * to last 3 sts, work dc5tog into next st, 1 sc into each of
last 2 sts (including top of tch), turn.
Row 3: Ch 3
(count as dc), skip first st, 1 dc into each st to end, skip tch, turn.
Row 4: Ch 1, 1 sc
into each of first 4 sts, *work dc5tog into next st, 1 sc into each of next 3
sts, rep from * ending 1 sc into top of tch, turn.
Row 5: Rep Row 3.
Rep Rows 2 – 5 three more times.
Then rep Rows 2 – 3 once more. Do not finish off.
Border:
Ch 1, work 3 sc in corner, work any number of sc evenly across sides of
cloth and 3 sc in corners, **join with sl st to beg sc. Finish off, weave in
ends, block.
