Packing Sarah

This is Sarah. I bought her for my step-daughter Elizabeth years ago when Elizabeth was about 3 years old. Elizabeth named her Sarah, as she names all of her dolls and stuffed animals, etc. Sarah spent most of her time hanging from the ceiling in the corner of Elizabeth's bedroom through the years. Occasionally, she would get the priveledge of being chosen to share Elizabeth's bed with a few other stuffed animals on a certain night. Elizabeth was allowed to have 3 stuffed animals or dolls with her at nighttime, otherwise the bed would be overgrown with them and Elizabeth would be lost for good. :) Eventually, Elizabeth outgrew her stuffed animals and Sarah too. She sold some at garage sales and got a kick out of watching other small children play with her toys. Sarah was special, however.

We put Sarah aside and waited for my granddaughter Katharine (Elizabeth's neice) to get a little older. She is now 3 years old - the same age Elizabeth was when Sarah first came into the family. So I am bringing Sarah all the way to Washington state from Texas to give her to Katharine. Now how in the world will I pack a 4 1/2 foot doll? Granted, she is very flexible, so that helps. I was going to take her in her own carry-on, but decided against it.  Since I will have one bag to claim already, I will just take a large bag instead of a medium bag. That way I can also bring her a few books I was wanting to give her. I just have to be sure not to exceed the weight limit of 50 lbs.

I'm so excited to be able to spend a week with them. If you haven't read my earlier post. I'm going to see my son Joseph, his wife Audra, and my granddaughter Katharine. I'll be gone frome the 13th - 19th.  I don't know if I'll be able to post any while I'm there. It depends on if I can use their computer. :) If not - then I'll have a lot to talk about when I get back.

I'm working on several new patterns as well that I should be able to post shortly, so that will be exciting also. Be sure and look for those. Answers to the Chain Reaction game is coming up, and more of the CAL for the 6" square on Monday before I fly out of here. Lots going on. I hope you all are having a great weekend. Happy Hooking everyone!
