Today's Inspiration

My husband and I have been going through some rough economic times recently and I have been doing a lot of praying. Today I have also been going through my hymn book and singing the hymns that I know and reading aloud the ones I don't know, as an offering and praise to the Lord. One hymn, especially one verse, has really spoken to me today, and I'd like to share it with you. Maybe it will help you too. It was written by Georg Neumark in 1640 and translated by Catherine Winkworth in 1863.  The Hymn is called "If Thou But Suffer God to Guide Thee" based on Psalm 55:22.

Verse 7:
Sing, pray, and keep His ways unswerving,
Perform thy duties faithfully,
And trust His Word: though underving,
Thou yet shalt find it true for thee.
God never yet forsook in need
The soul that trusted Him indeed.
